We started calving for the season. We are expecting 16 calves between now and August 1st. We are expecting calves from 3 diiferent bulls.....Red Hot, Rascal and Sugar Cain.
Take a look at our 2013 calves as well. We left that page on just to compare this year's calves to last year's. Our goal as always been similar conformation but a wide variety of colors and patterns. You can see by comparing the two that full siblings have different colors or color patterns. It's working and it's fun.
Axel, another great bull calf from Sugar Plum and Sugar Cain. We have two full sisters to this guy and they are great. It will be fun to watch him grow out. He was born April 12th, was 21inches/ 22lbs. He has a unique brindle pattern but this usually turns to a solid color as they age. He has alot of potential. His mother consitantly produces some of the smallest and best calves each year. SOLD to Wisconsin
Moose, a great little bull. He was only 19 inches and 21lbs when he was born on April 23rd. He doesn't look it, but he is solid. He is out of Shelby, a great little cow, about 34 inches. His sire is 29 inches, grandsire 31 inches. He will be small. Not as much color as we like but another one to watch grow out. Picture taken Sept 16th. FOR SALE $1500
Misty Loo Loo, goes back to a grat little cow we called Misty Blue. She looked like a dalmation. This little heifer is her great-grandaughter born May 11th, 20in/21lbs. Very nicely speckled, many times as they get older they will have even more. She's got "Dalamation" potential. She is a very refined little girl. Pictured with her mother KC out of Sugar Cain. SOLD to Iowa
Susie-Q, is a little girl that is full of it. She was bouncing around at only a few hours old. She has got the color. She was born May 12th, 21in/28lbs. She is red in color but does have a black nose so she may end up a tri-colored speckle like her mother. She is a cutie. Pictured with her mother Sugar out of Sugar Cain. SOLD to Nebraska
Josephine, a nice little heifer. Born to Jo Jo out of Sugar Cain. This little girl will probably turn black. She was only 20in/23lbs when she was born on May 21st. She loves to play, if the other calves are laying down, she tries to butt heads to get them up to play with her. SOLD to Iowa
Rose, a nice heifer born May 17th. She was 21in/23lbs. She is out of Vanillie by Sugar Cain. Vanillie's first two calves were solid blonde with some brindle. This is the first calf with white. I really like this color pattern. She will pair up nicely with Choncho from last year. She is a keeper.
Glacier, a little bull born May 25th. He was 21in/25lbs. He has some thick legs on him. He is so bright white out in the greed pasture. He is out of Snookie by Sugar Cain. This guy has some herdsire potential. He should put color on just about anything. His mother is a good milker so he should flesh out nicely. SOLD to Wisconsin
Fargo, another bull. Born May 27th. He was 21 in/24lbs. He is some great brown spots. They may turn brindle. Either way he is going to be a looker. Have to keep an eye on this guy. He is out Kalamazoo by Sugar Cain. He is full sibling to Fergus in 2013. I think he will make a good herd bull. FOR SALE $1500
Beauty is an all black heifer. She is out of Frostie by Sugar Cain. She is full sister to Snookie on the cow page. Frostie has had 3 calves from Sugar Cain and they are all different colors. This one may not have the flash as some of the other calves but she shines in the sunlight, and she has great conformation. Born June 24, 22in/33lbs. She will make a great cow. SOLD to Iowa
Hurricane is a great looking little bull. Hoping for a heifer, but will take a nice bull any day. This guy is out of Katrina, 35 inches, by Rascal, 29 inches. He was 21 inches/22lbs on July 7th. Very smooth along the back with the right amount of color, he is turning brindle. KEEPER
Casper, a great looking bull calf. He is out of Vee by Sugar Cain. He was born July 23, 22inch/28lbs. He is a looker. Not as masculine as we like to see young bulls, but colorful. Have to see how he fills out. Sold to Texas
Bullfrog, another bull, colorful little guy. He was born July 23, 20 inch/22lbs. Out of Pepper (33 inches) by Sugar Cain(36 inches). Same mother as Tyson from last year. He is going to be a good one. He is what we are looking for, a son out of Sugar Cain by an unrelated cow. Hard to say if he will be brindle or black. Either way a KEEPER.
Bottoms Up is a great little heifer. She is a full sister to Choncho from 2013. She is out of Sugar Bottom (35 inches) by Rascal (29 inches). She has great color and conformation. She was born July 31, 20 inches and 22lbs. She is going to be a great little cow for our program. She is a KEEPER
Sweetie Pie, our last calf of the year born Sept 3rd. She should turn black in a couple months so she will be a real flashy black and white cow. She is being bottle fed since she was late. Her mother was 38 inches, black and white. Her sire was 34 inches and gray and white spotted. She should mature around 36 inches. Sold to Texas
